I have had several mild cases of sciatica, but the first one came out of the blue! It was so uncomfortable that once I learned what I had I immediately wanted to know how to cure sciatica.  I went to the doctor and was told that some cases of sciatica cure themselves within a few weeks and unless there is a serious cause, such as a herniated disk of the back, that gentle stretching and anti-inflammatory medications when needed are the best cure for mild cases. Serious cases of sciatica sometimes must be treated with spinal injections of corticosteroids or even surgery, but I am lucky in that my sciatica is not that serious.
