There are 2 listing types of SERP results of most of the common search engines. SERP results are organic search listings based on relevance of websites derived from the keywords searched for. On the other hand, paid listings are listings where the search engines get paid by websites to catalog the websites. Click-per-pay mechanism or sponsored citations are the different forms of contextual listings helping fund the operations of the search engines. The different categories of listings are shown in separate sections in most search engine reporting results, or highlighting techniques are used to distinguish between adverts and organic listings. The content type searched for also varies – images, videos, maps or pure content.
