Most large companies and corporations hire private investigators on a regular basis. Some of them even such a constant need for their services, that they even employ them on a retainer basis. Private investigators that work in industry or commerce are usually asked to check insurance claims, carry out back ground checks among other projects of a similar nature.

In fact, up until around the middle of the 20th century things could be described as primitive. However, since then, technology in general and surveillance equipment for private investigators has come on in leaps and bounds.

Some of this equipment, by today’s standards is fairly simple and relatively inexpensive.
