While I was working on getting mycertification for linux I started reading up on how this system was developed and found it just facinating. Linus Torvalds, a student at the University of Helsinki in Finland, initially created Linux as a hobby in 1991. After putting up a post for ideas help started coming in from all over the world.
In three short years he was able to introduce the 1.0 Linux kernal. This has to be one of the most incredible examples of free software and open source development. Its underlying source code can be freely modified and redistributed.
Thank you Linus.
