Plasma television or  flat plasma tv  sets are quite bright, with over 1000 lux of power being possible and they have a very wide range of colors- far more than CRT television sets, They can be produced in extremely large sizes with 150 inch (diagonal) displays being made. They have a very low luminance at darkroom level, which means that they could create better dark colors that would be more suited for watching movies.
