The Act protects the interests of all those employees who are discriminated at the workplace on the basis of their age. The Act has been reinforced to safeguard the interests of employees of and above the age of forty. It is laid down that employees are entitled to get a job based on their ability and professional ability. Any kind of discrimination, that too, on the grounds of age, irrespective of the efficiency of the employee, is absolutely unacceptable.
